This confused a lot of people last year, so I'm going to explain it here.
Each tournament has 24 participants. These 24 participants are decided by voter nominations before the tournament begins. Each superstar is given a set amount of points based on where they are placed in voters nomination lists. If they receive enough points to make the top 24, they are qualified for this year's game.
The top 8 nominated superstars are given an advantage, being placed automatically into round 2 (like the American football playoffs). The first rounds work like this based on ranking:
Round 1 --> Round 2
(Left Side)
#16 vs #17 --> vs #1
#9 vs #24 ---> vs #8
#14 vs #19 --> vs #3
#11 vs #22 --> vs #6
(Right Side)
#12 vs #21 --> vs #5
#13 vs #20 --> vs #4
#10 vs #23 --> vs #7
#15 vs #18 --> vs #2
I've added guiding lines this year to make it easier to see who will be facing who, and will be graying out superstars as they are eliminated.

The first match will be posted tonight during Raw, and voting will be open for 24-hours. Be sure to check back every day, cause new matches are posted daily (except on Sundays).
